Hi Karin,
I don't know of any specific rules and regulations. There is probably some legal precedent as far as what cases have been won in court.
A good rule of thumb is that the bag should not look just like the original. If items such as emblems and patterns are copied, then it is infringing on the company's trademarks.
Also, the bag should not be passed off as something it is not. For example, if it is a Coach inspired bag, it shouldn't be called a Coach bag.
If you are unsure about whether something is legal to buy or sell, you may want to speak to a local attorney and/or law enforcement. It also wouldn't hurt to phone the company in question that is being replicated, although I would hesitate to provide them with too much information about myself just as a protective measure. However, they can tell you what is trademarked, such as a pattern, and what isn't, such as a color. Hope that helps.

I would like to know if there is some do...ent which shows the rules and regulations concerning replica goods? Are there any? I heard that a product is allowed to be copied only if there are 5 recognizable differences between the original product and the replica product?
Does anyone know more about this? Thanks for answering
Regards Karin

What brand is the purse, in theory? I will try to give you some details on what to look for to see if it might be authentic or not.
-- Contributed by: LoriSoardI just recently bought a handbag at a thrift store in very good and maybe even excellent condition I' ve been looking around the web to see where Ican find out if it is original brand and not a fake but no luck yet.
