Hi Shanara,
We just did an interview with Angie Houston of My Poupette. The company authenticates designer handbags. You can visit her site at MyPoupette.com. Authentications are very reasonable and can often be done via a photograph. I would recommend you speak to her about her services. Other than that, you can try resell stores in your area.

If they are trying to sell purses as real when they are obviously fakes, then that is fraud. Your best bet it to report to your local police department, as all local laws are a bit different. However, if it were me, I would probably approach them with what I knew first and give them a chance to make amends and agree to stop misrepresenting their product. There is a very slim change that it could be a mistake on their part. The ultimate decision is yours and will probably depend upon what you believe their intent to be. Good luck!
-- Contributed by: LoriSoardI just bought a fake Dolce and Gabbanna purse. I knew it was fake, even if they said it wasn't. It was like $100. It was at one of those purse lady things, the website says "designer inspired handbags and accessories," the people said they were real. Should I report them, and if so, report it to whom?
-- Contributed by: JoniHi Marie,
Did the site advertise the bag as authentic Coach? If so, then they should be willing to provide you with the proof you've asked for. I would contact them again. If they do not provide what you want, then ask for a refund. If they will not give you that, try talking to your credit card company and explain that the item is not as it was represented. The credit card company can help you file and handle the dispute. Hope this helps :)

-- Contributed by: MarieHi Debi,
Has your daughter contacted the seller? He or she may be willing to take the purse back. If not, then I would take very clear pictures of the purse and the details that show it is a fake along with notes as to why believe this purse to be a fake. I would send all of this information to Ebay along with any information you have where the seller said it was authentic, such as a print out of the listing. I would also go ahead and file a complaint with Ebay.
Did your daughter pay using Paypal or a credit card? You can also file a refund request there. I'm not sure how you'd get the store to give you a statement. You may want to try some smaller boutiques with the promise that the next purse you buy will be from them as an authorized dealer. Other than that, it is going to be pretty hard for you to track down such a letter. Good luck!
-- Contributed by: LoriSoardCould you help me or offer me some advice to help me in my situation? My daughter bought what she thought was a real Juicy Couture Purse on e-bay for $135.00. Well it was fake and I can not get any help from e-bay unless I get a letter from a store or someone who know's Juicy that can indicate that it is actually fake. I tried Nordstroms but they wouldn't do anything for me. Thanks... for any advice or help you can offer me.
-- Contributed by: Debi ThompsonHi Jennifer,
It is unlikely that you could purchase a new or even a used Coach handbag for $75.00, so it probably is a fake. Coach is actually made in China, however, so that is not necessarily an indication. Where you can usually spot the fake is in the stitching and it sounds like that is what you have discovered in the quality and workmanship.
I would take my receipt and go to the store and ask to speak to the manager in person. You may also want to check out the laws in your state. In many states, it is illegal to sell a fake designer handbag while representing that it is the real thing. If you go in armed with the knowledge of your local laws, you will have more room to demand a refund.
If all else fails, and you charged the purchase, contact your credit card company and ask them for advice. They may be able to mediate if you file a claim.
Good luck!
-- Contributed by: LoriSoardI think that I may have bought a fake coach bag without knowing, I only paid 75.00 dollars for it, it looked just like a normal coach bag even has the coach patch on the inside and the tag on the bag also had the coach trademark and had the coach stuffing, however it is very poorly made now that i take a closer look and says it came from china on the inside, i called the retail store where i bought this bag and a dooney and burke bag as well(the black one with the bees and should have a "D" on it too however it has a "B", anyway the store tells me that they do not do refunds so im stuck with what i bought. What can I do, if anything to get me money back that they ripped me out of, because they lead me to believe these were real handbags??????
