History

The seatbelt bag was designed by Dana and Melanie Harvey in 1997. They got the idea to design this unique bag during installation of seatbelts in their 1950 Buick. After their friends and acquaintances saw Melanie’s purse, they began to request their own. The business started in the Harveys’ one-car California garage and quickly outgrew it. They are now housed in a 12,000 square foot studio in Santa Ana, where each SEATBELTBAG is crafted with care.

Because of its popularity, the SEATBELTBAG has been featured in national magazines like Jump, Maxim, and Pregnancy.
