Gucci Handbags
From LoveToKnow Handbags
Gucci handbags have a history of quality and sophistication for more than 80 years. With an incredible range of styles and looks, there is a Gucci bag to suit any fashion trend.
About Gucci
Guccia Gucci founded his luggage and designer handbag line in 1921 with a small, unassuming store in Florence, Italy. Based on his years of living in Britain, his designs incorporated a sophisticated sense of nobility and refinement including equestrian-inspired detailing and simple yet elegant styles. These luxurious bags quickly caught the eyes of celebrities, and famous trend-setters such as Jacqueline Kennedy and Elizabeth Taylor have favored Gucci bags and accessories, making them all the more desirable for fashion-conscious individuals.
Styles of Gucci Handbags
There are several different basic styles of Gucci bags, including totes, clutches, and unisex hobo models. Each style comes in a range of sizes, shapes, and colors to suit any fashion need, and the classic elegance of Gucci is easily paired with both formal styles and casual attire.
Features
While the Gucci name is instantly recognizable, the bags are each distinctive and offer multiple features for style, practicality, and convenience. Depending on the specific model, features may include:
- Gold hardware for simple understated luxury.
- Braided or chain straps for added distinction.
- Playful and flirtatious tassel, charm, or stud accents.
- Detachable shoulder straps.
- Flap or top closures with either zippers or magnets for security.
- Sturdy bottom feet to support larger bags.
- Interior and exterior pockets including specialized cell phone pockets.
- The signature interlocking double G logo.
Fabric
One of Gucci’s signature traits is its incredible range of fabric options for different handbag styles. While most designers offer different models in different fabrics and materials, Gucci routinely offers popular styles with a wide selection of fabric choices to allow individuals to choose their favorite bag as well as the type of fabric they prefer. Leather is always a popular choice and comes in several neutral hues, and other materials include velvet, suede, mink, denim, fox fur, and snakeskin. Perhaps the rarest selection is crocodile skin, which is used in a number of bags and different colors, including sage green and classic black. Because of its rarity, crocodile skin bags are substantially more expensive than the same bags in other fabrics.
Where to Buy Gucci Handbags
From that initial store in Florence, Italy, Gucci has spread throughout the world and can be purchased on all six inhabited continents, including countries such as South Africa, Russia, Kuwait, Brazil, Lebanon, Sweden, and the Bahamas. In the United States, Gucci handbags can be found New York, Las Vegas, Beverly Hills, Boston, and Honolulu as well as many other cities. Fine department stores such as Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue frequently offer the latest Gucci styles. The official Gucci website offers a store locator for shoppers’ convenience, or bags can be purchased directly from [http:/www.gucci.com Gucci.com] or other reputable, authorized websites.
Cost
With such a tremendous selection of styles and fabrics, Gucci bags are available in an equally large price range. Bags cost from $500-$20,000 or more, and the choice of fabric is the single most influential factor, with crocodile skin purses frequently costing thousands more than identical styles in other fabrics. Despite the staggering range of prices, there are dozens of bags available for less than $2,000.
Other Gucci Products
In addition to their popular handbags, Gucci also offers other fashionable accessories. Luggage, shoes, sunglasses, belts, scarves, wallets, ties, and gifts can all be found with the signature Gucci logo and superior quality.
Gucci handbags are stylish and fashionable, and with an incredible range of materials available, there is a Gucci bag suitable for any style preference and budget.
Comments
Hi Vee,
Without knowing the original retailer where this item was purchased, it is hard to say for certain if it is authentic or not. It does sound like it has many of the attributes of an authentic Gucci.
There are a few services out there that will authenticate handbags for you, such as My Poupette. You also can go to a local Gucci retailer and see if they will identify the handbag, although many won't if you didn't purchase from them.
-- Contributed by: LoriSoardI just purchased a Gucci Handbag from the good will. It is a soft brown all leather bag with the single word Gucci embossed top front center of the bag. The lining is decorated with the word Gucci through out it. The word Gucci is not embossed in the leather anywhere on the inside of the bag nor are there any product identification numbers. Is this common for the vintage bags? It is a beautiful bag in mint condition and is quality made. I wish I could upload a picture of it so you could see it. If you know anything about vintage product identification for Gucci could you please share your information with me?
I am a Gucci lover and I have many Gucci bags and this bag possesses the same kind of quality as my collection but, like I said the thing that threw me is the lack of product identification other than the embossment on the outer front of the bag and the lining. Thanks for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you.
