Jen shares a little about her background and love of organization…

I have always been an entrepreneur. I am a passionate person that does everything 1,000 percent. I knew I needed to follow an entrepreneurial path because I had a real issue with someone else telling me I could only be as good as they said I could be or grow as fast as they said I could. So, right out of college, I became a co-owner of a fitness/wellness business as well as a national fitness competitor. After working too much and over-training for too long, at 27, I became very ill. I had no choice but to shift the direction of my life.

I started to realize that my passion was helping others launch their companies and products. I worked with a lot of clients helping them to do so through various platforms including home shopping networks. Doing that helped me to recognize my true calling; creating unique products and concepts. Stumbling into the fashion arena, the Butler Bag came into existence because of my desire to solve a universal problem.

LTK: You have a bag for any type of woman. Your website mentions busy moms, fashionistas, students and business executives. I'm curious - which category describes you and which is your favorite handbag?

Jen Groover (JG): I would have to say that three of the categories (not including student…although technically we are lifelong students) mentioned describe me in the different layers of who I am. Not having a favorite, I usually carry a style that is not sold (yet) to our consumers that we made for a special project, so that I can fit everything I need for all my on-going travels.

LTK: Every woman I know complains about her purse being a mess. Please explain to our readers, who may not have seen a Butler Bag yet, why your handbags help with this problem...

JG: The chronic problem with my purse being a mess and being a busy woman was my inspiration. The Butler Bags’ interior design is compartmentalized so that all your belongings stand straight up; you have a bird’s eye view of everything in your bag without digging, just like you can see your silverware in your utensil tray.

Currently we offer four styles of the Butler Bag, but we have many, many more styles and lines launching in the very near future. The classic line appeals most to people who are not carrying around their laptops and tons of gadgets. They usually are in the suburbs, driving place to place, and not having to carry a lot of stuff.

LTK: What bigger bags do you offer for moms or hose who need to carry more items?

JG: We offer Hybrid Butler Bags which is a style that most busy business women, moms, and people who live in the city would use.

The Allure Clutch

LTK: I noticed you've added the cutest little clutch to your collection called the Allure Clutch. The strap is on the front, which makes it perfect for holding at the waist. Why did you decide to add this feature and what other unique features are part of this bag?

JG: For some reason, I always had a problem with having to put a beautiful clutch purse in your armpit! Having a strap on the front, being able to hold it with your hand at your waist, actually makes your purse your most obvious accessory and increases the femininity of its appearance. Within the clutch, there is also a compartmentalized design to allow you to find your basic necessities quickly. When a girl is dressed up for a black tie event, the last thing they want to be seen doing is digging through their purse for lipstick!

LTK: You've added some accessories. Tell our readers about the best sellers in this category.

JG: Our best seller in the accessories category is the Butler Bangles. It is the same philosophy as the bag; keeping your jewelry compartmentalized so when you open the jewelry case you see everything at a bird's eye view. You do not have to worry about the tangling of your necklaces or losing an earring or stud amongst a bottomless pit.

LTK: Your website says there is a Baby bag line and a BYSOG line coming soon. Can you tell us more about these?

JG: Absolutely. The Butler BYSOG line is a collaborative line that has an edgy, urban, “So-Ho” feel to it. It is very different from our boutique line which is classic in its design.

The Butler Baby bag line will bring new mothers the ultimate in fashion and function for not just their stuff but their babies belongings as well.

LTK: Are you involved in working with any charities?

JG: Yes. We donate to many, many charities. Two charities that we work extremely closely with are Career Wardrobe and Girls Take Charge. We work with Career Wardrobe because I firmly believe in helping other women succeed both personally and professionally. Girls Take Charge is an organization to inspire and motivate girls, 9-18 years of age, to understand their power, potential, and importance in being leaders and involved in their communities. It teaches girls to not feed into negative media images, but instead assess their value beyond the physicality. I have recently been appointed as their National spokesperson as well as Chairman of the Board. As a mother of three-year-old twin girls, I hold these messages with high importance and close to my heart.

I also speak at many events, giving my time and knowledge to help inspire and educate others. I believe that everyone should follow their dreams and live to their fullest potential. We should not let society’s limitations, nor our own limitations, keep us from self-fulfillment and happiness. Passion is the true vehicle to success; everything else can be learned.
